Family Hike #7: Herrontown Woods! 

Organized by Littlebrook STEAM teacher, Mrs. Lloyd, and the Littlebrook PTO! This hike is designed to help children and parents connect with nature while learning how to care for the ecosystems around us. Bring the whole family for an educational, engaging hike in the woods where kids explore, and discover native plants and wildlife, and learn how healthy forests work. Our goal is simple: help families fall in love with nature so they grow up wanting to protect it.

There will be two hikes one for younger children and another for older ones and a POP_UP MAY’s CAFE for refreshment and snacks!

Our Guides: Younger Children Group: Led by outdoor education leader Nicole Langdo, founder of Painted Oak Nature School, who specializes in hands-on nature exploration for younger kids. Older Children Group: Led by Steve Hiltner of Friends of Herrontown Woods, guiding families in observing the forest ecosystem and learning about conservation.

Hike Rating: Light Moderate. Will involve both on-and off-trail walking over uneven ground. Wear waterproof boots.

Meet: 600 Snowden Lane, Herrontown Woods, Botanical Art Garden (“Barden”)

Start Time: 9:30 AM. 25 Families Maximum. Light Rain or Shine.
